We Didn't Find Frank, But We Did Find So Much More
On September 25th, the Modus AV Listening Lounge in Chamblee filled to the walls. Every seat was taken, the room was packed, and the whole night carried the kind of hush that only happens when a room full of people is truly listening. Our Frank Ocean event sold out, and it was everything we hoped a listening party could be.
Why Frank Ocean, and Why Here?
Frank Ocean's music asks for attention. The layered vocals, the negative space, the warmth of the low end and the quiet details tucked behind the melody all reward a system built to reveal them. That is exactly what a listening lounge is for. Instead of hearing these records through earbuds or a phone speaker, our guests heard them the way they were meant to be heard, in a room tuned for the music.
Finding Atlanta's Biggest Frank Ocean Fan
The centerpiece of the evening was a head to head trivia showdown in partnership with LMPYO. Contestants took their places at the buzzers, the big screens lit up in channel ORANGE tones, and the crowd leaned in for every question. The competition was friendly, the stakes felt real, and the cheering was loud.
When the dust settled, we had our answer. Omeshia was crowned Atlanta's Biggest Frank Ocean Fan and received an official certificate to make it permanent. Her energy, her knowledge, and her orange outfit made her a fitting champion. Congratulations again, Omeshia!
Enjoying the Music and Celebrating the Artist
Between rounds, we did what we do best. We listened. The room settled into the albums, sank into the couches and chairs, and shared those small moments that make a listening party special: a nod at a favorite lyric, a quiet sing along, a smile when a familiar transition landed just right. It was as much a celebration of Frank Ocean the person and artist as it was a playback session, and you could feel the respect in the room.
Guests also had the chance to pick up limited edition event merch, made just for this night. A few people came dressed in their best orange, and it made for a beautiful room.
Vinyl and CDs from Moods Music
A big thank you to Darryl from Moods Music, who joined us with a curated selection of vinyl records and CDs available for attendees to purchase. Watching people flip through crates and leave with a new record in hand, maybe even a copy of channel ORANGE, was a highlight of the night. If you love the ritual of physical media, Moods Music is a name worth knowing in Atlanta.
A Time Was Had
Sold out events can feel big and buzzy, but this one also felt personal. Strangers became neighbors over a shared love of one artist. Friends who came together left with new friends. The conversation continued long after the last track, and that is the best review we could ask for.
